There's nothing quite like the US Open, incredible tennis, New York energy and some of the best tennis style off the court. This year, we spent Labor Day weekend in NYC with friends, with Sunday at the Open as the highlight.

But first, a little New York.

We kicked off the weekend Friday night with dinner at Olio e Più in Greenwich Village, a recommendation from our friend Kelly. The Italian bistro atmosphere was the perfect start to the weekend, with housemade pastas for the table and an olive oil cake to finish.

Saturday was all about exploring the city, shopping, taking in some early fall fashion inspiration and, naturally, finding a way to work a little tennis into the afternoon. We stopped at Estelle's at the Gansevoort, where the US Open was playing on large screens, for a midday break before heading back out for more shopping and a few cocktails.

That evening, we headed to Crane Club for dinner. The space is beautiful and dramatic, with a sophisticated New York feel that made it perfect for a Saturday night. We started with sfogliatelle topped with caviar, Suzanne's first taste of caviar and an immediate hit, before sharing dishes including New York strip, Dover sole and plenty of sides. A few surprise desserts from the chef were the perfect end to the night.

A Day at the US Open

Sunday was the main event.

We started the day with Moët champagne at the entrance, not a bad way to arrive at the US Open. From there, we took in the energy around the grounds before settling into the Heineken Suite for an afternoon of tennis. We were lucky enough to see Aryna Sabalenka take on American favorite Taylor Townsend, followed by two of our favorites, Tommy Paul and Carlos Alcaraz. Great seats, great friends and some incredible tennis made for a pretty perfect afternoon.

And, of course, we had put some thought into what we were going to wear.

What do you wear to the US Open?

Our approach was simple: comfortable enough for a full day of tennis, polished enough to feel put together, and pieces that still felt like our personal style.

We built our looks around classic navy, hunter green and white, with each of us putting our own spin on classic tennis style. We chose the Athletic Dress in Navy and the A-Line Classic Court Skirt in White, paired with our new Hunter Green Tank and coordinating sweatshirt. Kelli chose our new Performance Polo with the A-Line Classic Court Skirt in Hunter Green, while Suzanne continued the green theme in our Athletic Dress in Hunter Green with Navy Trim. We each made the looks our own with sneakers, denim jackets, sweaters, sunglasses and favorite bags. The result felt polished and tennis inspired without looking like we were headed out to play a match.

It's exactly what we love about tennis style: the best pieces can take you well beyond the court.

More Than the Tennis

Days like this capture so much of what we love about tennis, the sport itself, but also the friendships, travel, style and experiences that come along with it. It's a big part of the inspiration behind 40-Love and what we envisioned when we created the brand.

Great friends, incredible tennis and a weekend full of New York inspiration made this US Open one to remember.

Until next year, US Open. 🎾
